Terms of Service

By accessing or using desect you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the platform.

desect provides search, clarification, and recommendation tooling to help you discover podcasts and related video content. We may update features, suspend the service, or discontinue parts of the product at our discretion.

Creating an account is required to access certain features. You must provide a valid email address and maintain the confidentiality of your credentials.

By creating an account you consent to our processing of your authentication data (e.g., email, hashed password, session information) in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

If you authenticate with Google, you authorize desect to use the Google OAuth tokens necessary to sign you in; you may revoke this permission through Google's security settings at any time.

You agree not to misuse the platform, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, or submit unlawful content.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any credentials used to access additional features and for all activity that occurs under your account, if applicable.

All proprietary rights in the desect platform remain with Desect Labs or its licensors. Third-party podcast artwork, titles, and show descriptions remain the property of their respective owners and are displayed strictly for discovery purposes.

Search results may contain links to third-party services such as podcast hosts or YouTube. We do not control or endorse third-party content and are not responsible for their practices or policies.

Certain features rely on the YouTube API Services. By using those features you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms) and the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

You can revoke desect's access to your YouTube data at any time by visiting Google's security settings page (https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions). We do not store your YouTube account credentials.

desect is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Desect Labs shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues arising out of your use of the platform.

We may suspend or terminate access to the service at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

We may revise these Terms periodically. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the product or email when feasible. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
